Cotswolds Ride 2021
The plan is a ride down to the Cotswolds, ending up on Saturday evening 24th July, at the Premier Inn, Spring Street, Chipping Norton, OX7 5NN, where I have reserved some rooms (the overnight stay is optional).
Choices: This gives riders the opportunity to ride 100 miles over the weekend.
Saturday: you can choose between a 63 mile route (or a 42 mile route)
Sunday return: Different 42 mile route, back to Barnt Green Sports Club.
(Or even do the reverse of the 63 miler on Sunday, if you really want a challenge!)
*** The routes will be pleasant and not too hilly, they will be worked out by Simon Stanley and I, and will be available soon as GPX downloads and as PDF maps. Simon will also be riding with us on the weekend.
So, you can ride both ways, or only ride one way, or just join us in Chipping Norton to cheer us on – with plenty of walking, sights and shopping to be had around there!
All that I ask is that you each donate or raise some money for St Mary’s Hospice.
N.B. Penny to Paris 2022 riders are exempt. Suggested donation is a minimum of £10.
Partners and friends can drive down to join us at the Premier Inn hotel on the Saturday night, where we have a reserved dinner booking at 7.30 p.m.
(For example, some people have said they are going to ride, and their partner will join them in Chipping Norton, another has said he will ride the 40+ mile route both ways, Sat and Sun.)
I will also be arranging a vehicle to transport down any cyclist’s overnight bag, which we will get to their room before their arrival.
The rate for the Double/Twin room, dinner and breakfast for two is £104.98 per room.
A single is £85.99 for the room, with dinner and breakfast for one.
*** If you want a room, please email me the names of the occupants and I will send you details. Please note: I only have a few left on the deal I got…
